Every building from the tiniest to the enormous ones requires services system in order to function well to meet its purpose in serving the occupants. In this assignment, we are going to look at several building services systems installed only in multi-storey buildings and could not be found in small buildings. The services system includes mechanical ventilation and air-conditioning system, active and passive fire protection and mechanical transportation system. This assignment requires students to observe with their own eyes and develop their own understanding in the application of various building services systems to make a building functional. The purpose of this assignment is to familiarize students with the application of building systems, which in the future can be applied to their design proposals. This will enable them to demonstrate their understanding of building operations.
